WORLD LANGUAGES – Latin 1-5 – Latin 1 will be available as it is taught, 2022-2023. Others will follow 2023-2026.

Latin is taught in the Elementary to give students a thorough grounding in Language structure, principally grammar, as well as a delightful expansion in vocabulary as the majority of our English words come from Latin roots.

LATIN I – Coming Fall, 2022
This first course is a gentle introduction to language study and is taught in Level 2.

The emphasis is on learning the Latin alphabet and its pronunciations, plus learning 100 everyday vocabulary words.

Song School Latin Book 1 (Student Edition), with 30 corresponding songs and chants on the included CD, is an interactive workbook with songs and fun activities designed to set young students on a course to loving Latin! The 31 weekly lessons, including review chapters, will delight students as they learn 100+ everyday vocabulary words in Latin. LATIN II – Coming Fall, 2023 – Build upon the foundation laid in Song School Latin 1, and continue your children’s’ lessons with this second volume. Whether you plan for your children to study Latin in-depth later, or want them to gain a basic understanding of one of English’s root languages, Song School Latin Volume 2 will suit your needs. It is assumed that students have already completed Volume 1, and thus this volume provides additional Latin vocabulary and begins to introduce Latin grammar. After completing this volume, should you so choose, students will be ready to move into the Latin for Children Primer A text.

At the suggested rate of one chapter per week, homeschoolers will be able to complete the 32 weeks during the standard school year. Worksheets can be completed during a single class or spread out over multiple days, allowing parents optimal flexibility.

Review chapters are included every few weeks to encourage mastery, while each lesson’s fill-in-the-blank stories, questions, written exercises, and songs to help students to remember it all! The included music CD contains both classical and ecclesiastical pronunciations for all songs. The Latin stories in this volume are in parallel with the Veritas History Curriculum (card series) and integrated with the grammar and vocabulary of Latin for Children Primer C. The history reader stories have been revised, but the revisions do not affect the reader’s compatibility with the student edition.
