NEWS – A NEW TEACHER
We have hired an additional teacher who will be teaching History, Civics, and Science.
Miss Madsen, our new teacher, is trained in the F.A.C.E. or Foundation for American Christian Education method which requires a binder and note taking. She has 22 years experience tutoring and teaching in both home and private schools. She demo-taught for us one day and we and the students were very impressed.
Her specialty and gift is bringing the principles of the gospel into the lessons she is teaching and then helping her students to see the application of those principles in their daily lives.
We were so happy she found us, and we her. She couldn’t be a better fit.
BIG NEWS – RECORDED CLASSES for $30 a Month per FAMILY
The BIG GURU BUSINESS advisors say: “Now is NOT the time to lower your prices. Everyone expects higher prices, so raise yours!” Frankly, that piece of advice, for which we paid dearly from a true Business Guru, went where it belonged: IN THE TRASH! We subscribe to the idea of giving as many students as possible an opportunity for a private school education. So, in this time of financial stress, we are offering access to all our recorded classes, along with their PDF Syllabi, for Tuition of $30.00 a month per family. Video courses are now being constructed and recorded and many will be may available online now through the summer. To find-out what courses will be available and when, consult the Subject Icon Grid and Classes and descriptions via the Ascent Advantage Academy Home School Page. NOTE: This is a work in progress. Not all courses are in the line-up as yet. Check back weekly for updates. THANK YOU.
MORE NEWS: REGARDING INFLATION AND GAS PRICES – St. George Classes
We realize that inflation and gas prices are cutting into family budgets. Therefore, we offer a few helps.
One, we do have an volunteer aide position open for the St. George classes which will pay for one tuition.
Second, for those of you Signed-up for St. George Classes, who have Elementary students coming in the morning and then Secondary students coming in the afternoon, at the moment, since neither session is yet full, we can offer to let your students stay all day – 9 AM to 2:30 PM. Lunches would be your responsibility, but this measure will erase half of your gas cost.
Third, we are open to entrepreneurial activities on the part of school funding. Anyone having ideas in this regard, please contact Mrs. Kessler, the Director, at 435-773-3766.
We know that times may get rough; that we all might have to weather an economic storm. However, working together, perhaps we can help those who want their children in the school, but may not be able to afford full tuition.
ON ANOTHER NOTE:
We have settled on LIFE SCIENCE and BIOLOGY books for the Fall. There are projects and investigations for the Elementary students and high school level labs for the Secondary students.
It looks like the cost of the curriculum per student will NOT total the $300.00 fee. In this case, we will not charge parents the full amount, or refund any overage.
